El joven productor canario de 32 años Pablo Díaz Reixa, aka El Guincho, que ya se codea hasta con Björk, regresa con un disco wearable: HiperAsia. Le entrevistamos en el último número de Neo2.
Comienzos: “Empecé a hacer música desde muy pequeñito porque mi abuela es profesora de música. Los nietos mayores estudiamos con ella y después comencé a hacer beats, loops y tocar la batería y la guitarra.”
Fama mundial: “La verdad, no he sido muy consciente. Siempre he tenido la libertad de dedicarme a la música sin preocuparme de cosas raras sobre lo que la gente pensara de mí. Siempre he intentado mantenerme puro a la hora de componer”.
Björk: “Me escribió cuando yo estaba de gira por Australia en 2011. Recibí un email suyo en el que decía que le gustaba lo que había hecho con Pop Negro y que si quería trabajar con ella en Biophilia. Empecé a trabajar un poquito mientras seguía de gira, después me fui con ella a trabajar en Nueva York y la parte final la terminé yo solo en Barcelona. Fue muy guay. Ella es un genio.”

Thirty two-year old producer Pablo Díaz Reixa, aka El Guincho, from the Canary Islands is already rubbing shoulders with the likes of Björk. He returns with a wearable record: HiperAsia.
Roots: “I started to make music when I was really young because my grandma was a music teacher. The older grandchildren all studied with her and afterwards I started to make beats and loops, and to play drums and guitar.”
Worldwide fame: “To be honest, I haven’t really been aware of it. I’ve always had the freedom to dedicate myself to music without worrying about the strange things people might think about me. I’ve always tried to keep myself pure when it comes to composing.”
Björk: “She wrote to me when I was on tour in Australia in 2011. I received an email from her that said she liked what I had done with Pop Negro and asked if I wanted to work with her on Biophilia. I started to work on it a little bit while I was still on tour and then I went with her to work in New York. I then finished the final part alone in Barcelona. It was really cool. She’s a genius.”
